Apparently cupcakes are all the rage among entrepreneurs these days. A new shop recently opened up around the corner from my house. At $3 per sweet treat, I imagine they are doing quite well.
It turns out this is more than a local phenomenon. Time magazine just had a profile of Nicaraguan entrepreneur Freddy Antonio Castillo Luna (Time). The article is about how Kiva is helping Freddy expand his business and also how the article's author, Joel Stein, is not content to just donate money through Kiva. Stein is also helping out by lending genius (his words.) It's an entertaining story so do read it. Here's Luna's profile page on Kiva, if you are interested.
