Barriers to Entry

This seems like a natural follow up to yesterday's post. Word is that several area establishments and business improvement districts (BIDs) are upset by the wave of new food vendors and are trying to keep them away from existing businesses. My mind turns immediately to Jack High's The Politics of Purity, one of the best case studies of federal rulemaking (a relatively understudied topic) and about the politics of food quality and regulation.
